AbstractArgues that global economic inequality and poverty have been reduced, and income levels and poverty have risen and declined, respectively, in developing countries, thanks to higher growth rates enjoyed by poor countries which have opened themselves to foreign trade and investment since the current wave of globalization began in the early 1980s.
