The Blood of Experience: The Failed State and Political Collapse in Africa

Abstract
Sovereign territorial control, sovereign supervision over resources, a revenue collection system from people, infrastructure capacity, basic services capacity and the ability to maintain law and order are functions by which a state’s success or failure can be measured. Application of the functions to Africa indicates many states to be wavering between tyrannical and anarchical conditions. The strong potential for political collapse can be addressed by neighboring power intervention, intervention supported by a regional organization, inter-African annexation and regional integration.
