The Politics of Genocide
Author(s)Keulman, Kenneth
AbstractSamantha Power’s book, ‘A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide’ indicates that the distinctive feature of the twentieth century is the creation of the term ‘genocide’ and its institution as a legal configuration prohibiting the most extreme types of state sponsored terror. Although this seems to suggest a significant progress in international law and correlative justice, genocide persists and its perpetrators ordinarily remain in power.
