Centro Femenil: A Women’s Prison in Mexico
Author(s)Pearson, Jennifer M.
AbstractObservations of the Centro Femenil, a women’s prison in Mexico, shows a different approach to the implementation correctional methods for prisoners. The Centro Femenil gives great importance to the social health of the prisoner’s family system to facilitate prisoners’ reintegration into society after serving their prison terms. This method of penal management reflects the cultural and social values inherent in Mexican society.
