Postcolonial Urban Apartheid
Author(s)Silverstein, Paul A.; Tetreault, Chantal
AbstractThe authors explore the history of the socio-economic environment within the impoverished peripheries of French urban areas and conclude that the French 2005 urban unrest that emerged from within them should not have come as a surprise. The authors attribute the blame to what they see as the French government’s colonial rule within postcolonial metropolitan France.
