Abstract
The author explores the backgrounds of the systems-theoretical framework for analyzing modern society in terns of social differentiation. This framework is then used to analyse the structural characteristics of the educational system. This system has its basis in the school’s complexes of interaction and organization, however the secondary effects of autonomy and its modes of operation are said to have more impact on the evolution of the education system than its societal environment.
