Social Movements and the Social Construction of Human Rights

Abstract
A new paradigm is presented for researching human rights and social movements, which acknowledges the shift from challenging oppressive powers to sustaining beneficial ones. The paradigm also incorporates a socio-historical connection between social movements and human rights claims.
