Liberal nationalism, where all cultures are given equal status in a political nation, has been advanced as the solution to Hungary’s problems instead of traditional nationalism, which is formed around a single ethnicity. However, this philosophy has its own problems, such as that giving equal respect to all languages is possible when only two are involved, but the expense or education requirements when four different languages are all official becomes daunting. Also, the political community will work toward assimilation because it must have common interpretation and activities.
