Interventions to Prevent HIV/AIDS among Adolescents in less Developed Countries: Are They Effective?
Author(s)Magnussen, Lesley; Ehiri, John E.; Ejere, Henry O. D.; Jolly, Pauline E.
AbstractThe objective of this chapter is to describe the early antecedents of the Cold War as it is commonly understood; this is, as a political reality born after the end of the Second World War. The chapter analyzes previous sources of antagonism between both countries, and tries to find there the original sources of later developments. Based on the famous prediction of Tocqueville, made in the mid-eighteen century, he develops the history of hostilities between Russia and United States. The author also adjudicates the main responsibility for the start of the Cold War to Stalin’s expansionism, while Western powers are portrayed as merely reacting to Stalin provocations.
